Earlier this week I took the ICS/NIMS training and certification class. Today I spent the morning in the ShadowLite Command Center and observed and supported the deployment of multiple sorties to the field to collect demographic data.

The Command with a bee hive of activity lead by John Gargett with Operations by Lisa Orloff. The Virtual Agility brought a projector for a large wall display and the staff pitched in with additional operations support –

Stuart Rudolph, Situational Awareness, Using the Virtual Agility Work Center, kepr us up to date with an overall common operating picture and live video and data feeds from the field.

Entrée Wireless offered their battery powered WBP-KR1 Wi-Fi Gateway for use on the Sorties. Several organizations jumped at the chance. After some arm wrestling the WBP was given to Matt Sutherland, ESRI for use with their hand held GPS enable data collection applications.
